The Kenya Air Force (KAF) facilitated transportation of food and medical aid to the Republic of Mozambique on 14th October 2020. The relief distribution was an initiative of the Government of Kenya spearheaded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence.

The aid, aboard a Kenya Air Force Spartan aircraft, will assist approximately 300,000 people displaced in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province following insurgence by jihadist that has tormented the region since October 2017.

While handing over the donation in Pemba Bay, Cabo Delgado, Foreign Affairs CAS Hon Ababu-Terrah Namwamba presented a message of good will from His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The donation was received by Mozambique’s Minister of State for Administration & Public Management, Ms Ana Comoane who thanked the Kenyan Government. “It is an honour for me to accept this generous donation of food and medical supplies sent by the government of Kenya. We thank the government of Kenya especially President Uhuru Kenyatta”, she said.
