Outgoing Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF) Lt Gen S NThuita hands over the KAF Flag to the incoming Commander KAF Maj Gen F O Ogolla at KAF Headquarters in Moi Air Base on 17 July 18
On 15 July 2018, His Excellency, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces, promoted, appointed and presided over a swearing in ceremony whereby Major General Francis O Ogolla, was sworn in as the Commander, Kenya Air Force.
This ceremony paved way for a hand over ceremony on 17 July 2018, at the KAF headquarters – Moi Air Base, Nairobi, where Lieutenant General Samuel N Thuita handed over command of the Kenya Air Force to Major General Francis OOgolla.
Maj Gen FrancisO Ogolla had previously served as the Deputy Commander since 2014.
A military handover ceremony symbolizes the transfer of the instruments of command from the outgoing to the incoming Commander. As is tradition, the handover ceremony was preceded by visits to both LaikipiaAir Base and Moi Air Base by the incoming Commander Maj Gen F O Ogolla and the outgoing Commander Lt Gen S N Thuita.
During the visits the outgoing Commander expressed gratitude to the Kenya Air Force personnel for their commitment and diligence to duty. He wished the soldiers well in their endeavors urging them to put God first and continue to serve with the same zeal.
